Collecting for a Site-specific Sculpture project

Project

Here you will collect materials to make a site specific sculpture later on the trail. Site-specific means that a piece of art is integrated into its surroundings. It helps us to explore our relationship with the site ‘Tara Hill’ in a very hands-on way.

Using your bag, collect pine needles, cones, small sticks, and interesting looking pebbles for our “Clay Tree” project later on the trail. You will be using the materials you collect to create a living tree with clay (we will supply you with this) - pine cones for ears or a nose? Is there anything that could work well as hair or a beard? Will your creature have one eye or three? …and so on.

Gather lots of natural materials!
