Learning Support
At Gorey School of Art, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full creative potential. We understand that individual learning needs vary, and we are dedicated to providing comprehensive learning supports to create an inclusive and accessible educational environment.
Personal Assistance
Our Personal Assistants are highly skilled and qualified artists, each holding a minimum QQI Level 6 qualification in Art, Design, Film, or Photography. They play a vital role in supporting learners with physical challenges, enabling them to fully engage in their creative studies. Our Personal Assistants provide practical assistance, including preparing materials and equipment, facilitating access to studio spaces, and offering on-site support during the creation of artworks or film productions. Their expertise ensures that all learners can overcome physical barriers and focus on their artistic development.
Additional Tuition
We offer daily Additional Tuition provided by a team of experienced tutors, each holding a minimum degree in their respective art discipline (Art, Design, Film, or Photography). These tutors provide one-on-one support to learners who require additional guidance in meeting the requirements of assignments or project briefs. Whether it's assistance with the realisation of artworks, support with written materials, or guidance with research, our Additional Tutors are dedicated to helping learners succeed. They provide tailored support to address individual learning styles and challenges, ensuring that every learner has the resources they need to excel.
Fund for Students with Disabilities
To further enhance our learning support services, we apply annually to the Fund for Students with Disabilities on a case-by-case basis. This allows us to secure additional resources, including Assistive Technology, to meet the specific needs of our learners. We are committed to exploring all available avenues to provide comprehensive and personalised support.
Career and Counselling Service
In addition to academic support, we understand the importance of holistic development. Our Career and Counselling service provides students with access to professional guidance and support, helping them navigate their educational journey and prepare for future careers in the creative industries.
At Gorey School of Art, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to explore their creative potential. We are dedicated to providing the necessary learning supports to ensure that all learners can achieve their artistic goals. Please contact us to discuss your individual needs and how we can support your journey.
Accessibility and Dedicated Facilities
Gorey School of Art is committed to providing a fully accessible learning environment. Our facilities are designed to be wheelchair-friendly, ensuring that all spaces are easily navigable. We have a dedicated lift specifically for disabled or physically challenged learners, providing seamless access to all floors and studios. In addition, we offer a dedicated changing room, designed to meet the specific needs of learners with physical challenges, ensuring their comfort and dignity. We are continuously working to improve our accessibility and ensure that all learners can fully participate in our programmes.
